San Francisco, Day 1- March 14, 2015
Well, it took more than 24 hours in planes and airports but we made it here. Our early morning flight was cancelled and we made a quick decision to try to get out earlier, hopefully ahead of the storm. That meant that we checked out of the Alt Hotel at the airport without spending more than 10 minutes in the room. After much delay we boarded the plane just as the storm was starting. Before we left the de-icing station, the pilot came down the aisle and looked out the window to inspect the wings. This gave us both confidence and fear. We finally arrived in Toronto around 2:30 am. After getting our luggage Debbie got on the phone with Air Canada to get us on an earlier flight to San Francisco. In total we changed our reservations 4 times for this trip. We were very happy when the Maple Leaf Lounge opened at 5am. At 8 o'clock we finally left for San Francisco. The weather here is very pleasant. - 20C - much better than home. We spent a few hours this afternoon touring Chinatown. But for the most part we are just tired and will start our tour in earnest tomorrow after a bit of rest.
